AOA Conservation
Demonstration Site

AOA Demonstration Site Page

There are five sections of the AOA Demonstration Site. There are two sections owned by the AOA, with one section on each side of US-33, and there are three additional sections that are neighboring conservation easements. This area is used as an educational and conservation area to demonstrate conservation techniques and trail-building techniques.

The area of the AOA Demonstration Site owned by AOA is open to the public. The adjoining conservation easements are not, however, although there is public access to the Gosnell Preserve during LilyFest in April, which is an annual spring celebration featuring emergent wildflowers. See the AOA website for details. Access to the public areas is from Bailey Road for the section southwest of US-33 and from Rockbridge Road for the section northeast of US-33.
