Hocking College Lands

Hocking College was endowed with considerable land holdings. These land holdings are intermingled with Wayne Nation Forest land just south of Nelsonville, Ohio. The Lake Snowden land is also considerable but derived from a separate source at a separate time and is another geographic location. The lands at the college include around 1,400 acres of mostly wild, mostly rugged hill country. There are over 15 miles of trails on the Hocking College land itself, with many more continuing into the adjacent Wayne National Forest. These trails are used extensively by the Hocking College Horsemanship Degree Program, but only horse-riding through the program is permitted. Foot travelers, however, are allowed on all trails. We recommend entering the system from the old nature center.
